An Israeli diplomat stationed in Panama City was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning (GMT).
The man serves as the chief security officer at the Israeli Embassy in Panama.
According to reports, muggers cornered him and forced him to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM machine, before assaulting him and fleeing the scene.
The diplomat was able to contact local medical teams, who rushed him to a nearby hospital.
He suffered mild injuries and is reportedly doing well.
